In 2017, at the height of Despacito's popularity the track was among 19 that mostly in Spanish were included in the Top 100. In 2020 the number will increase to 41 songs from this genre. In the wake of Justin Bieber released his bilingual remix of Despacito in the year 2017, a number of popular artists began collaborating with reggaeton performers. Drake and Bad Bunny worked together on MIA (2018) and Madonna and Maluma joined forces on Medellin, 2019 Some reggaeton artists have criticized the shift to popular music coming into 2020. A new band, Rauw alejandro, was determined to alter the direction of music. He often included elements from electronic dance and other genres.
